First Principles is an independent analysis publication focused on European deeptech — the technologies that sit at the intersection of physical science, engineering constraints, and industrial economics. We cover energy systems, advanced materials, semiconductor manufacturing, and computing architectures. Each piece starts from the physics and works outward.

We publish one analysis per week. No daily news cycle, no hot takes, no engagement optimization. Every piece is structured to answer a single question with the rigor it deserves. If a topic doesn't warrant 2,000 words of careful decomposition, we don't publish it.

The publication is based in Germany and operates independently — no venture capital affiliations, no sponsored content, no advisory conflicts. The only bias is toward thermodynamic reality over narrative convenience.
